Wilma Town Board Meeting April 1, 2026

Board of Reorganization and Supervisors Meeting

With no chair, the clerk called the meeting to order with the Pledge and nominations for chair. Maureen Rioux nominated Mike McCullen; Alden Shute seconded, passed. Mike McCullen nominated Alden Shute to be vice chairman for 2026. Maureen Rioux seconded; passed.

Treasurer Patrice Winfield said she chooses Northview as our checking account and Northview and Members Credit Union as our banks of deposit.

Mike McCullen moved and Maureen Rioux seconded that notice-posting and publishing places would remain the same (Pine County Courier, The Evergreen, Wilmatownship.org).

Alden Shute made a motion that Election Judges be paid $22.00/hr; Maureen Rioux seconded the motion, passed. Board approved wages and fees for 2026.

WAGES AND FEES 2026:

  • Chairman: $105/mtg. (3 hours)
  • Supervisor: $100/mtg. (3 hours)
  • Clerk: $100.00/meeting
  • Treasurer: $100.00/meeting
  • Clerk and Treasurer bookkeeping and reports: $22.00/hour
  • General Labor: $22.00/hour
  • Major Mech.: $30.00/hour
  • Mech. Asst.: $22.00/hour
  • Grader Op.: $25.00/hour
  • Annual Meeting Moderator: $75.00/meeting
  • Out of Town Meetings: $100.00/half day; $150.00/full day
  • Election Judges: $22.00/hour
  • Hourly rate, Chairman: $24.50; Supervisors, Clerk, Treasurer: $20/hour

Mileage: Federal rate for officers, judges, delegated township representatives, for judges training, township officers training, and association meetings, etc., $.725/mi. for 2026.

Alden Shute made a motion to adjourn the Board of Reorganization Meeting and Maureen Rioux seconded. Motion passed, meeting adjourned.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING:

Mike McCullen called the board meeting to order.

Clerk’s Report of March 4 Board Meeting:

Cindy Kleinschmidt read the minutes; Alden said they opened an account with Pomp’s Tire, not Glen’s Tire. Pomp’s Tire will come out on site. With this change, Maureen Rioux made a motion to accept the minutes; Alden Shute seconded; passed.

ROAD REPORT:

Alden Shute plowed a couple of times, plans to do brushing, and the road inspection date will be set at the next meeting. Maureen Rioux made a motion to accept the road report; Mike McCullen seconded; motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS:

Pine County Township Officers’ Meeting was Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Hinckley Community Center. Maureen Rioux, Glen Williamson, and Stefanie Williamson attended.

Spring Short Course: Cancelled and will be rescheduled.

Grader Hall roof leak: Alden Shute made a motion to have Clay Heller look at the roof and give a bid; Maureen Rioux seconded, and motion passed. Alden Shute will reach out to Clay Heller.

Assessor, Board of Review and Equalization: The board of review will not be held at Wilma Town Hall this year. There will be an open book meeting for the northern tier townships, including Wilma, at the Pine County Government Center in Sandstone on Thursday, April 23rd at 2:30.

NEW BUSINESS:

Requests from 210 Gallery and Art, Family Pathways, Pine County Historical Association, and Seven County Senior Federation for continued contracts. The board decided to divide $300 between these four organizations. Alden Shute made a motion to continue these four contracts; Maureen Rioux seconded, and motion passed. Cindy Kleinschmidt will contact the four organizations and provide the contracts at the next Board Meeting.

Keeping Paul Raymond on as an employee: Mike McCullen will contact Paul Raymond and discuss with him staying on as a township employee to prepare the hall for meetings, mowing, shoveling, etc. Discuss further at the next Board Meeting.

Treasurer’s Report and Claims:

Patrice Winfield gave the treasurer’s report. Total bills for April: $4,452.89. Total to transfer from savings to checking: $4,500. Alden Shute moved to approve the report and make the transfer; Maureen Rioux seconded. Mike McCullen moved to adjourn the meeting.
