Due to an Air Quality Alert being issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, no burning permits will be allowed to be activated starting Friday, July 14^th, until the Air Quality Alert has expired.  At this point, it is anticipated that burning permit activations will be allowed again starting Sunday, July 16^th, unless the Air Quality Alert is extended.  Campfires are allowed, but are discouraged during the alert.  We will continue to monitor the forecast and will make changes when necessary.

ECE has started putting fiber optic cable up in our area, starting with Mora and Pine City. The more people who sign up now at ecefiber.com, the sooner and more likely that they will come to our area and get the funding.  Signing up does not require any commitment or deposit, just an interest.  It is very good price for very fast speeds: $65/month for 100 mbps, plus subsidy for economic need.

The Wednesday night board meeting, May 3, 2023, the Clerk put on the agenda: “Motion to Adjourn: PLEASE HELP SET UP TABLES AND CHAIRS FOR PANCAKE BREAKFAST,” but he forgot to put on the agenda that the DVFD needed permission from the Board to hold the annual pancake breakfast in the hall. Not one person volunteered to help. We apologize for any disappointment and hope to hold it next Memorial Day weekend.
